Lionel Bassega is the GFTrade Specialist at Global Financial Integrity. He advises governments, financial institutions and customs departments on how to combat trade misinvoicing. He manages the implementation of GFI’s proprietary cloud-based trade misinvoicing risk assessment tool, GFTrade, in customs departments and financial institutions around the globe.
Prior to joining GFI, Mr. Bassega worked in the public and Oil and Gas sectors in Cameroon and taught at North Carolina State University. He has a Master of Arts in International Affairs from North Carolina State University; a Master of Business Administration in Oil and Gas Management from Coventry University; a Master of Business Administration in Business Management from Kadir Has University, Istanbul, Turkey; and Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Siantou University, Yaounde, Cameroon. He is a native speaker of both English and French.
