Leon Dawson is currently serving as a Belize-based Policy Analyst for Global Financial Integrity (GFI). He is the liaison officer in Belize for a project focused on increasing domestic resource mobilization (DRM) by promoting corporate, natural resource and professional integrity through public policy enforcement and capacity building in the public and private sectors.
His role involves cultivating and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders to advance GFI’s advocacy for transparency in the international financial system. His academic qualifications, coupled with his hands-on experience in good governance and anticorruption and conservation, uniquely position him to bridge the gap between environmental sustainability and effective governance. With a commitment to reducing illicit financial flows and promoting economic development, Mr. Dawson brings a multidimensional perspective to his work at GFI, making meaningful contributions to the global effort for a more transparent and accountable financial landscape.
Mr. Dawson is a dedicated professional with a rich background in project management, conservation, good governance, and anticorruption stands at the intersection of environmental stewardship and public service reform.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of the West Indies and is currently pursuing a Master of Science Degree in Public Sector Management.
