WASHINGTON, DC – Global Financial Integrity (GFI) Director Raymond Baker will testify before the U.S. House of Representatives as part of a hearing on capital loss, corruption and the role of Western financial institutions.
The hearing will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2009, in 2128 Rayburn House Office Building.
GFI director Raymond Baker will discuss the findings of a December 2008 GFI analysis of illicit financial flows out of developing countries and make recommendations for U.S. and international policies which could substantially curtail illicit cross-border flows of capital. The hearing will examine how corruption drains revenue out of emerging economies and examine ways to combat corruption and keep illicit capital flight from exiting developing countries.
The hearing will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2009, in 2128 Rayburn House Office Building.
